since people have made holiday shopping ridiculous (charging like crazy until the bill comes in January, ugh), I shop throughout the year and save for special purchases that pop up from thanksgiving thru Christmas – I don’t support the shopping/displays the day after halloween

I actually do it all year long.

I start my Christmas shopping a few days after Christmas. Im usually done within a few days. I get everything on sale and spend a fraction of the regular price. I just store all the gifts in the closet. There will always be an unexpected gift or two to buy but I almost always have time to fine it on sale.

We don’t do a lot of gifts, but we will start shopping after Thanksgiving. We try to stick with things we really need, or handmade gifts for most of our family.

I used to start as early as October. It gave me enough wiggle room time-wise to find what I needed. Then a few years ago, I asked my friends and family to cease the gift exchange aspect of Christmas, which has really made it much more peaceful and a great way to concentrate on the Reason for the Season. 🙂

    God bless,

I am more of a last minute shopper. My husband and I drop the kiddos off at the in laws and get all of our shopping done in one day, usually in early December.
