Back here in Portugal Father’s Day was commemorated in March and the kids did some crafts in school, something they made themselves. I offered my dad a set of fish preserves that he adored!

this year Fathers Day is a sad one as my dad passed 6 weeks ago. Instead of being downbeat about it my daughters, son in law and grandchildren are getting together for a foodie day where we will celebrate and remember him. I’m going to give my son in law a bottle of his favourite tipple as he is now the only dad in our little family circle

I got a nice watch for my brother. Our father has passed and I’m not married, so brother is the only man in life. I usually spend Father’s Day, though, in kind of a sad mood because my father is gone. It’s not my favorite holiday.

I had to buy a F-Day present for my ex from the children this year – we found a Star Wars shower curtain for him on ThinkGeek.com, he’s a very big Star Wars fan. The kids are celebrating with him this weekend, I don’t recognize it as a holiday (as I never had a dad) so I will be doing the regular sunday stuff. Errands and housework while they party!

For father’s day, my husband and I will be going camping out at the state where were married. I plan to fully engulf myself in everything that he enjoys doing such as; playing horseshoes, fishing, nature walks through the woods, and so on, because after all this is his day. The day that was created to celebrate all of his amazing accomplishments..
