Avoid Outdoor DIY Messes with the HomeRight Spray Shelter

October 12, 2015 by Susan Bewley

Sick of dealing with out door messes from painting or staining items outdoors for your DIY projects? See what we think of the HomeRight Spray Shelter here!

As some of you know, keeping the area around you clean when you are staining or spray painting something outdoors can be very challenging. Even if you are careful, you can end up with nasty paint stains on the concrete, grass, or worse, inside your garage because of extra spraying. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an easy way to keep the mess inside your work area?  Recently, HomeRight created the answer to containing messes in the garage or outdoors – the HomeRight Spray Shelter.

HomeRight Spray Shelter: What is It?

Looking for a way to cut back on mess when you are spray painting or refinishing something outdoors? If so, we think you will love the HomeRight Spray Shelter. This tent like structure helps limit overspray drifts and keeps messes contained to inside the spray area, so you don’t end up with spray messes on your concrete, grass, or on the floor of your garage. With its lightweight designs, it is very easy to position and set up and taking it down takes only minutes, allowing you to quickly get to work. As well, this tent like structure is perfect for small to medium projects, allowing you to easily spray paint an end table or other items in your home.

HomeRight Spray Shelter: Overall

While I was re-staining our mailbox, I considered this shelter an absolute lifesaver. While I had originally planned on using out in our yard, rain forced me to move the project into our garage. Since there are quite a few items out there that I would prefer not get damaged, I was relieved that spray shelter kept everything inside the tent and protect the mailbox as it was drying. Best of all, it was super easy to set up and put away, something that was very important to my husband and myself, especially with how much has currently been on our to do list. The only thing we had to add was a drop cloth, since the tent itself does not have a bottom. Honestly, I think this tent is a must for anyone who does outdoor or garage DIY projects. Based on our own experience, I am happy to give the HomeRight Spray Shelter an A rating.

I LOVE your review and love the fabulous items! I could seriously use this for so many DIY furniture projects that I have left to do. I live on Long Island and have picked up some amazing pieces that were left out for garbage and a few I purchased for next to nothing at Yard Sales. I LOVE redoing furniture and this is something that I could use for sure. Great review and thank you so much!

I’d use this just to sit outside in the yard. We have a huge oak tree in the yard and sometimes debris drops off.

Such a simple concept but I can’t believe I never figured out something as useful as this. Sure beats all those plastic sheets I have been hanging up into a makeshift paint shelter.

Thats different but it would likely work pretty well if you gaad to spray indoors. My only concern would be fumes concentrating, but it is a good idea over all.

For spraying outside this would be awesome since we don’t have much yard. It looks a lot simpler than trying to configure a tarp set up.

  39. Trish F says

    October 23, 2015 at 6:37 pm

This would be great at my house because even though I’m not that concerned if paint gets on the grass, I have a lot of trees. So this would be great to shield the newly painted piece from falling leaves and bugs. Ingenious. Thanks for the review.

I think I’m in love with the HomeRight Spray Shelter! I can see how this product would really come in handy with the many small painting projects I do. It never fails, as soon as I start working on something outside, it has to rain!! This is such a cleaver idea 🙂

I love to refinish furniture and also build, recreate things out of “useless” old items. I have not been able to do for a while. One problem is actually taking SO long to stain or paint. This product would save the garage or shed floors from a lot of splatter, vs. newspapers. How ingenius! I also love the sprayer product that is showcases with this product.
    Thank you for the review!
