They always have the camcorder on that taped the entire room and you could see it all on TV at the same time. We would always watch last years tape before we opened all the new gifts. I really miss those times. I hope I can give my children great memories like that.

  51. Michele Ash December 16, 2014 at 2:26 pm -

My favorite Childhood memory of Christmas was that my sisters and I would always sneek out into the living room early in the morning to see what gifts were under the tree. We also would empty our stockings and check everything out! Well, our parents soon got wise to this and my mother sewed jingle bells onto the bottom of our stockings! We thought Yeah ok that’s really going to work! We still snuck out and we’d hold the bell really tight in our hands and poured out our stockings! The bell wouldn’t have the chance to make noise because we held them so tight! The only problem was putting everything back into our stockings while still holding the bell! We somehow did it! We didn’t have a lot of money growing up and I remember that my sister and I both had asked for a bike. One Christmas as we snuck out into the living room, there were no bikes under the tree. We went back to bed upset that we didn’t get the one thing we really wanted! On Christmas Day we woke up as usual and when we went into the living room, there, under the tree was a bike for me and for my sister! SNEAKY! LOL We had so much fun way back then! Good memories! Thanks so much, Michele 🙂

One year at my grandparents’ house, we kids “just missed” Santa coming while we were in the basement (or my uncle Dave stomped on the ceiling and rang some sleigh bells), and when we ran up the stairs to try to catch him, we saw Rudolph (or a red lightbulb) hiding behind a tree in the back yard. We freaked! 🙂 That experience had me believing for at least another two years!
