Help PetSafe Donate Toys to Homeless Pets this Christmas

Posted on Dec 6 2014 - 3:33am by Susan Bewley

You guys would probably never guess this, but I am a big animal lover and support a variety of different animal rescue organization. Over the years, I have adopted shelter animals, donated to different humane societies, and even volunteered my time  to help animals in need. To say I’m passionate about animals is likely an understatement and I go out of my way to support companies that give back to the cause as well. When I hear that PetSafe was wanting to give back to local shelters for the holiday, I was absolutely ecstatic!

So, what are they doing? For every “Like” and “Follow” the brand receives on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest between now and Dec 31, they will donate one toy to a pet in a shelter. PetSafe aims to provide up to 12,000 of its Busy Buddy® and FroliCat™ brand cat and dog toys to shoulders throughout the United States including:

  •  Asheville Humane Society (Asheville, NC)
    •    Larimer Humane Society (Fort Collins, CO)
    •    Oregon Humane Society (Portland, OR)
    •    Halifax Humane Society (Daytona Beach, FL)
    •    Louisiana SPCA (New Orleans, LA)
    •    Capital Area Humane Society (Hilliard, OH)
    •    Atlanta Humane Society (Atlanta, GA)
    •    Kentucky Humane Society (Louisville, KY)
    •    Charleston Animal Society (N. Charleston, SC)
    •    Foothills Animal Rescue (Scottsdale, AZ)
    •    South Suburban Humane Society (Chicago Heights, IL)
    •    Austin Humane Society (Austin, TX)

Love the article for pet safe toys. I know the poor animals that have to be in shelters love to play and nice to donate toys for them.

That’s very nice. People tend to forget the animals living in the pound. It’s really sad that they live life in a cage. If anyone is looking fora pet, I really hope they adopt from the shelter. They make the best pets. And, you could be saving a life.

Its a shame there are many homeless animals out there who need homes.

This is an awesome thing to do for pets. It’s a tragedy that so many pets go homeless or are killed. I always adopt homeless pets.

I’m so glad to hear they’re doing this… I have 5 rescue cats, and it kills me that I can’t give a happy home to all the animals out there who need families of their own…

I love this idea. We can’t forget about the animals. They deserve love (and presents) too.
    Thank you for remembering them…

I can’t donate, I wish I could, so I will follow them on FB and Twitter. I have a feral cat colony I take care of and I need to get more catnip toys for them for more interaction and play.

I think this is Awesome!!!!! I am following them. I am a animal lover and have a wonderful dog, Molly, she is a Pom… we have traveled together and I love her so much:) But thank God there are no more pet stores in the malls, I always felt sorry and it made my heart ache to see them piled in crates. So needless to say when I read or hear about homeless pets I want to do all I can to help…It may be a small contribution but they add up. And in Vermont they are prosecuting people for animal abuse and there is usually a good ending.. Thanks:)

I do this! I make toys for the cats at the homeless shelter up the street and bring them in to them. It’s a great thing to do, I bring treats too. They feed them there but they don’t buy them treats and everyone deserves treats! I

Thank you at you for taking the time to inform people of the potential dangers that touch domestic pets and it, very often, because of a lack of education of the human about it.
