For me, exercise and I have always had a love/hate relationship. I love reading while on the exercise bike, and I enjoy my Beachbody workouts, but my husband’s weight bench has always been something I despised. It wasn’t designed for someone small like me (I’m only 5’2) and I’ve always fought him when it came to using any form of weights. Things that were easy for him were just horrible for me. Since I didn’t enjoy it, I avoided it and fought him every time he tried teaching me. I knew I had to start doing some strength training, but the thought made me sick. As I was getting my exercise routine together for the summer, I discovered a new book that sounded perfect for me – Strength Training Exercises for Women. After reading a bit about it online, I couldn’t wait to try out this new fitness book!

Strength Training Exercises for Women: What is It

Want a healthy body that looks toned and ready for swimsuit season? If so, we think you will love Strength Training Exercises for Women by Joan Pagano. This is a no-excuse book filled with amazing pictures and exercises to help women contour their body, strengthen their bones, and lose weight through strength training. Each exercise has colored how-to pictures that you can look at to make sure you are doing each of the exercises correctly, and shows where each exercise is targeting on the body. Not only are the exercises outlined for women, they are designed to help you build a time-efficient workout – one reason this book is great for every woman, but especially those intimidated by the gym or who simply prefer working out at home. With this awesome book, you will not only lose weight, but see why strength training is the perfect choice for flattening your belly, sculpting shapely arms, and giving you the perfect thighs to fit in those skinny jeans!

Strength Training Exercises for Women: Overall

When I first got this book, I knew I needed it but had no clue what to expect. Once it arrived and I had a chance to go through the book, Strength Training Exercises for Women far exceeded my expectations. The book is very easy to understand, upbeat, and you can tell the author truly wants you to succeed. It feels like you are having a personal trainer in your hands every time you pick up the book. Best of all, the pictures of the exercises really help you know if you are doing them correctly, avoiding injury and helping you build confidence. Based on my own experience with this book, I am happy to give Strength Training Exercises for Women an A rating.

I would like to win this to help me get back in shape after having a baby three months ago. It would be nice to have a resource that gives suggested exercises and helps me focus on proper form.

I need to lose some weight (fat) and I know that the best way to do that is with weight training. I just haven’t found a book that makes me feel comfortable enough to try it on my own yet, and I don’t want to go to a gym.

I have to admit, I don’t really stick to strength training routines, although I know I need to desperately! I tend to focus more on cardio. Ironically enough, I HATE cardio because I hate sweating.

I would like to win this book because I already enjoy strength training. I go to the fitness center a couple times a week already but would love some additional ideas for when I don’t get there and want to work out at home.
