3 Great Cameras for Capturing Holiday Memories at Best Buy

December 18, 2014 by Susan Bewley

Did you know that Best Buy is the ultimate destination for finding the latest camera and camcorders? For me, Best Buy was the one stop shop when it came to looking for a DSLR for taking food pictures and capturing amazing family photos. When it was time to get my camera, my husband and I took to our local Best Buy, where their trained staff and other photographers helped me pick the best camera for my needs. If you are looking at getting a new DSLR, this is the best time to buy one, especially with all the great holiday deals happening at Best Buy. Below, I featured three of my personal favorite cameras for capturing precious holiday memories!

Nikon 5300 DSLR 2/18-55mm VR Lens

I will freely admit, I am very biased when it comes to the Nikon 5300 DSLR. This is the DSLR that I use for taking many of the food pictures on Budget Earth. With built-in Wi-Fi, you can capture high quality images and then share them instantly online. This camera also comes with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II lens, which enables you to capture sharp photos and great video footage. What also make this camera cool is its Optical Image stabilization, which helps prevent blurring to ensure the best image clarity possible. Currently, this camera is available with a red or gray body.

Sony Alpha A6000

Are you a big fan of Sony products? If so, we think you will love the Sony Alpha A6000. This compact system camera has the world’s fastest autofocus, and features a 24.3 megapixel Exmor APS-C CMOS sensor that makes it easy to shoot crisp, beautiful scenes. As well, this camera has built in WiFi to make it even easier to share content from your camera. Currently, this camera is available in white and silver.

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2

As many of you know, Samsung makes some of the best Android enabled devices, allowing people who love this operating system to share things easily across the platform. The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 is no different, allowing you to shoot, share, and use Android Apps on this digital camera. This camera features 16.3 megapixel resolution and a 1/2.3″ BSI CMOS sensor that allows you to capture sharp images and high definition video footage. With built in Wi-Fi for sharing stored files and 4.8 inch, easy to use touch screen, taking pictures is easier than ever on the Galaxy Camera !

AHH I finally got an iphone and it takes decent pictures. I would think only professionals would need any fancy cameras.

I love Samsung cameras (own a NX 3000), but they should really stop using touch screens. Maybe it’s a matter of personal taste, but touch screens seem to be slower compared to ones with physical buttons.

You can count on Best Buy to have a great selection and low prices when it comes to cameras. I had a nice Sony DLR and was just learning how to use it and we had a fire and lost the camera. We replaced it with a different one and found we like using a basic one so much more. We are not professional photographers.
