Banana Bread Cookies Recipe

A delicious, easy to make banana bread recipe that is similar to the traditional bread but in cookie form.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 medium, ripe bananas (about 1 cup mashed)
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, brown sugar, and white sugar to a large mixing bowl and whisk to combine.
  3. Smash the bananas with a fork.
  4. Add the butter and smashed bananas to the mixing bowl.
  5. Using an electric mixer, mix the cookie dough slowly until well combined.
  6. Add the chocolate chips and walnuts to the mixing bowl and stir them into the dough using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula.
  7. Scoop out heaping tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them evenly spaced on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten each dough ball slightly.
  8. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the bottoms are golden-brown.
  9. Transfer the cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool.
  10. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
