A delicious cobbler made from only natural ingredients inspired by a traditional pecan pie, but without the corn syrup.

Cobbler Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
   

Topping Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Add the butter to a cast-iron skillet and place it in the oven while the oven preheats and the butter melts. Remove the skillet from the oven and set aside.
  3. Add the flour, ¾ cup brown sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon to a large mixing bowl and whisk to combine.
  4. Add the milk and vanilla extract to the bowl and whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the skillet with the melted butter and smooth out the top.
  6. Sprinkle the pecans evenly over the batter.
  7. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the pecans, and pour the water over everything.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
  9. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
  10. Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to three days.
