Is there anything better than freshly baked treats, especially delicious maple pecan donuts right out of the oven? With so many of our local bakeries only making cakes and cupcakes, it feels like we have a donut drought in our area. Don’t get me wrong—I do like Dunkin’ Donuts—but there is just something special about local mom-and-pop bakeries.
With so many of the ones that focus on donuts and traditional treats going out of business, we have been trying to make freshly baked donuts at home. One of the best parts about it is that we can control the ingredients and the sweetness we want, customizing the donuts to our unique tastes. One of the treats that I have liked lately is maple pecan donuts. These donuts were made by one of our local bakeries, and with them looking at selling, I knew I had to figure out how to make them, or I may never have these delicious treats again.
One of the things I love about making donuts at home is that they are much easier than you might think. You can easily make a batch of maple pecan baked donuts in less than thirty minutes, making them the perfect weekend impulse treat. The hardest part (at least in my eyes) is making sure you don’t eat them all before serving. They are also the perfect amount of sweetness, making them great for kids and adults alike!

- Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the donuts comes out clean.
- Add the granulated sugar and the remaining two teaspoons of cinnamon to a gallon-size ziplock bag. Shake to combine.
- Add the hot donuts, two or three at a time, to the bag and shake gently to coat the donuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
