K-Mart Share the Word: Learning Financial Success

This post brought to you by Kmart Share the Word. All opinions are 100% mine.

Like many other adults, it was a very life changing experience when I first went out on my own. I thought I was ready to handle the world, but soon learned that things were very different than I had expected. At the time, there was a recession, very few jobs, and I was doing the best I could to survive. The one thing I didn't feel prepared for when I stated was taking charge of my finances. It felt like just the opposite – my finances controlled me. Everything I did revolved around paying student loans, credit card bills, entertainment with friends, and of course, food and rent. I was never a big spender, but I sure felt it when I was forced to sit down and take charge of finances by my husband and told that things could be different. Knowing that taking charge of our finances can be difficult, K-Mart decided to help enhance their customers live by creating the Share the Word Financial Empowerment platform.

In honor of black history month, they decided to work with Glinda Bridgforth, author of Girl, Get Your Money Straight! to create a free ebook for their readers. This book is filled with valuable resources to enhance the lives of K-Mart customers. Some of the information in this free ebook includes:

  • family budgeting
  • money saving advice
  • budgeting templates
  • money saving & budgeting tips
  • tips for making your money go further at K-Mart
  • making layaway work for you
  • Using shop your way reward benefits at K-Mart to save money

Personally, I wish I had a helpful guide like this when I first went on my own and I'm excited to learn more helpful tips to help my family with our own budgeting. As any budget savvy lady will tell you, there is always something new to learn every day. Once we gain control of our finances and not the other way around, we can feel more confident, empowered, and know that once we have savings, we can handle just about anything life throws at us.
