Kuranda Dog & Cat Beds Identity Crisis Contest

Posted on May 31 2016 - 3:41pm by Susan Bewley

Does your dog have an identity crisis? Learn how you can win a free bed & help other animals in the Kuranda Dog & Cat Beds Identity Crisis Contest!

Do you ever catch your dogs sleeping in cute, but naughty places? You know, like your gaming chair, bean bag chair, or even the couch? While some of us may not mind too much, it can be hard to get pet fur and dander out of furniture, especially if you have someone visiting. All of us pet owners though sometimes enjoy the cute naughtiness and quickly grab our cameras to get pictures of our dogs relaxing, napping, and just pretending to be humans. Knowing that pet parents love these cute moments, Kuranda Dog & Cat Beds are happy to announce the Fido Files “Identity Crisis” Photo Content.

In the Fido Files, Inspector Bones is the Kuranda detective, who is visiting the homes of humans to solve pet mystery cases. Beginning May 24, 2015, pet owners can participate in the “Identity Crisis” themed Fido Files photo contest by submitting photos of their dog lying in odd human areas. The winner will receive a free Kuranda dog bed in the fabric and color of their choice.

As well, Kuranda will also donate five percent of all contest participant sales made through the “Shop Here” link on the Fido Files webpage to Service Dog Project, a non-profit organization in Ipswich, Massachusetts that has donated over 100 Great Danes as service dogs to individuals who have severe balance and mobility limitations. To say the least, Kuranda is excited about the contest!

“Pet parents are notorious for catching their pets doing funny and cute things on camera,” said Beth Klein at Kuranda. “Our contest within Fido Files invites pet parents to share those moments in time when their dogs sleep in human spaces, without their humans beside them, hence having what we are playfully calling an ‘identity crisis.’ The gaming chair, the living room couch, the kids’ bean bags…these are some of the spots where pets will try to get comfortable.”

“When a dog doesn’t have a bed for itself, the dog will sleep anywhere, even when it may not be the most comfortable,” said Klein. “Kuranda beds are very comfortable and provide an elevated place to rest. There’s no stuffing to collect allergen-harboring dirt or dander, and pet owners find that the beds are preferable to fancy furniture or a cold floor.”

For those who don’t know Kuranda Dog & Cat Beds, they are known for creating orthopedic, chew-proof dog beds used in hundreds of shelters and rescues across the country. Not only are they fashionable, but super comfortable for pets, many times more accommodating for pets than even human furniture and much better than sleeping on a cold floor. Best of all, they are recommended by veterinarians because they are so comfortable and help keep dogs elevated off the floor, giving them a comfortable, safe area to sleep.

Want a chance at winning one of these awesome beds? You can find the rules and how to submit your dog’s photo here!  Winner will be announced June 14th on the Kuranda Facebook Page.

Our dog learned to open the bedroom doors so we had to turn the handles upside-down to stop him getting on the beds!

I really wish Ivi could jump to our bed. We have a giant platform bed we bought when we first got our house that is also a built in dresser. We put Ivi up there and she is terrified on it! She isn’t a fan of heights. lol!

I don’t recall my cat sleeping in any unusual places, though she did have one chair that was her favorite. She also would like to jump up on my computer chair about 2 seconds after I would get up to go to the kitchen or something!

I don’t have a dog, but good luck to everyone participating in this giveaway!

My dog sleeps on the couch. I even bought her a 100 pet bed that looks like a couch and she still sleeps on the big couch.

Aww, this would be great. Sylvie our wonderful kitty, she just left from sleeping behind my laptop to her bed on my bed. She’s allowed anywhere as she brings so much joy into my life. 🙂 But she’s never had one of these, and I bet she’d LOVE it! 🙂

I have heard greatthigs about these beds! Our dog has his own bed, but he is often caught laying upside down on the couch. The older he gets, the more likely it is we can sneak up on him and catch him doing it

Our cats have some interesting places that they love to call their own, sometimes they share the same spots and other times they fight for a particular area. I wish they had their own spots for taking naps/sleeping.

one of my cats won’t use the cat scratcher and it has to be the couch. so aggravating.

Even though my cat has his own bed, he mostly uses my bed for his. He uses my right foot as his pillow. He loves me, so it is okay with me.
