Kids can be difficult to shop for. Yes, the younger they are the more it seems they will like anything you give them (I have a 1-year-old nephew who previously has been fascinated by coasters and the recycling bin. And before you ask, no, I did not give him either of those things)…but the fact of the matter is we don’t want to just give them anything. We want something fun, something they’ll treasure, and something durable that will hopefully last more than a couple of play sessions. Above all else, I think we want the gifts we give to be special.
Make a Mat is a company that makes fun placemats that you can personalize to make mealtime full of smiles! They are handmade with hand drawn artwork, and to make them more unique you can select letter art styles that reflect a child’s interests and character. They’re a great way for children to practice the letters of the alphabet, as well as learn how to spell their name (and if they’re anything like I was as a kid, they’ll love it because it has their name on it. Seriously, do you know how difficult it is to find something with “Demelza” on it?).
