Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10pc Set Review

November 1, 2012 by Susan Bewley

With the holiday seasons coming up, I am expecting to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. As some of you may have guessed from my recipe section, I absolutely LOVE to cook. This is the time of year where I shine since it means I can treat everyone to some of their favorite entrees and recipes. Since I cook so much, it is important that I have good, high quality cookware in the kitchen. Unfortunately, due to many moves, some of my pots and pans are starting to look a bit sad. Some of them are dented, scratched, and just look a bit frightening since they were a KOHLs special when Daniel and I first moved in together. Don’t get me wrong, they had a good, long life, but I need to find a new cookware set. One set that has caught my eye is the Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece set.

Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece Set: Design

What is so unique about the Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece set? For one, these pots are made not only for cooking, but displaying, with their two-tone gradient exterior. Since I have a small kitchen, I have to find ‘unique’ ways to store my pots and pans. This sometimes means that some of my pots and pans constantly live on the stove. Having colorful pans that add a bit of extra color to my kitchen is definitely a plus in my eyes! Currently, this set is available in red, orange, and blue. I know I am personally very fond of the red set, since it goes with most of the colors I currently have in my own kitchen.

Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece Set: Cooking

If you are a cook like me though, you expect your pots and pans to do a bit more than just look pretty in your kitchen. From what I have read, this set heats evenly and quickly, something that can be a concern with porcelain cookware. If your pot doesn’t heat evenly, this can lead to burned or undercooked food, something I don’t personally have time to deal with due to my busy schedule.  Since the Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece set can also be heated up to 350 degrees, you can take care of some minor baking in a pan as well. I personally hate to waste water, so if I can heat or finish cooking something in the oven in the same pan that’s pretty darn spiffy in my book!  I also love – from what I have seen of these pots and pans – that they have rubberized dual-riveted handles, making it very easy (and safe) to transport them when they are hot!

Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece Set: Clean Up

Like most high quality non-stick cookware sets, the Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece set is hand wash only. While this may sound like a major pain in the butt, it really isn’t as bad as you may think.  My most favorite pan to cook in currently is actually a very expensive piece of Calphalon that does a great job cooking and is a breeze to clean! I remember the first time my husband washed it he was amazed at just how easily everything came off with water. This is normal for most high quality cookware from what I have seen.

More Reviews on the Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece Set

From what I have seen and read, I am very impressed with the Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10-piece set. Even if I don’t purchase this set for myself, I could easily see giving this as a Christmas gift – especially to some of my friends who are about to get married or just purchased their first home. The first thing I'll cook is a 5 course meal for my parents in honor of their 25 year Anniversary!  I'm planning on having a huge sit-down meal with our family and we're going to make a photo disk of their years together- it's going to be very special.

I like Kortney"s idea of breakfast, we love it here at our house with bacon, sausage, and biscuits with gravy.
