I definitely don’t think we’re prepared for a fire! We do not have ladders in our upper (3rd floor) bedrooms. And we don’t really have a plan. We do check our alarms and extinguishers regularly, though!

  2. Michelle S October 17, 2017 at 9:15 am -

Yes, we have a plan. Smoke alarms on every floor in key areas plus fire extinguishers throughout the house.

  3. Lisa F. October 17, 2017 at 2:41 pm -

I think I’m mildly prepared with clear exits and smoke detectors. I could use a carbon monoxide detector, though.

  4. Will G October 17, 2017 at 4:49 pm -

I think we are. We have a plan.

  5. Daniel M October 17, 2017 at 8:31 pm -

hopefully we are, detectors on every floor, escape route

  6. Rachel October 17, 2017 at 10:27 pm -

We are prepared. Our smoke alarms all have had their batteries changed recently.

  7. Diane October 17, 2017 at 10:59 pm -

Our family needs to be more prepared for a fire. We need to make a plan. Our house burned when I was 12 and it’s a horrifying thing to live through.

  8. kate g October 18, 2017 at 7:07 am -

There is a smoke detector in the hallway, a co2 detector there too. Also there are fire extinguishers placed around the house. They are close to needing updating though. All in all not in bad shape, but could certainly be better.

  9. Francine Anchondo October 18, 2017 at 12:56 pm -

We are mildly prepared . We only have fire alarms at the moment

  10. Cathleen King October 18, 2017 at 1:32 pm -

We are and have smoke alarms on key areas plus fire extinguishers throughout the house.

  11. Vicki Wurgler October 18, 2017 at 3:41 pm -

I think we are prepared, we have smoke alarms,a Two-Story Fire Escape Ladder and a place to meet outside

  12. elizabeth miller October 18, 2017 at 4:18 pm -

We are prepared in the sense of fire alarms everywhere and fire extinguishers.

  13. stephen radford October 18, 2017 at 5:18 pm -

yes we have ran a few drills and have alarms in every other room

  14. Kristy Hughes October 19, 2017 at 2:57 pm -

My family probably isn’t as prepared as I would like. My husband and my kids are likely to sleep though any alarms. I guess that’s why they have me.

  15. laura October 19, 2017 at 7:33 pm -

Kinda. It is something we need to talk more about.

  16. Maria Appleby October 20, 2017 at 10:33 am -

We aren’t nearly as prepared as we should be. I just checked our fire extinguisher and it’s in the red. We need a carbon monoxide detector because we have a gas furnace. We do have smoke alarms and we put in new batteries every October.

  17. Debbie Terry October 20, 2017 at 5:11 pm -

Yes – I think we are. We have smoke and carbon dioxide alarms and a plan should we need to get out in a hurry.

  18. Fran October 22, 2017 at 12:49 am -

sort of, although we haven’t had a practice drill

  19. Lori Walker October 22, 2017 at 9:31 am -

We aren’t… we don’t have a plan right now.

  20. Cheryl B October 22, 2017 at 1:34 pm -

I feel we can be more prepared. Although I have taken steps to have more safety features added to our home.

  21. Cynthia C October 22, 2017 at 2:25 pm -

I think we are as prepared as we can be except I should replace the smoke detectors. They are getting older than they should be.

  22. Catharine R October 22, 2017 at 2:59 pm -

We have all the basics in place, but there is always room for improvement.

  23. rickel bart October 22, 2017 at 4:10 pm -

we hope so—smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, escape plan

  24. Andrea Lewis October 22, 2017 at 4:48 pm -

We are not prepared, this would be a good start!

  25. Kathleen Tracey October 22, 2017 at 11:42 pm -

We are not 100% prepared. The adults know what to do and now that the grand kids are old enough to understand we need to teach them what to do.

  26. David Basile October 23, 2017 at 11:29 am -

    Almost there

  27. Trisha Burgess October 23, 2017 at 9:06 pm -

I believe we have a good plan. I have discussed exits with the kids and have done test runs. But you never really are prepared.

  28. barbara butler October 23, 2017 at 9:36 pm -

I really need to win some smoke decetors I don’t have any

  29. Mary October 23, 2017 at 10:23 pm -

just moved to a new place, so still need to plan for emergencies!

  30. Rich Peklo October 24, 2017 at 12:57 am -

You are never too safe. First Alert is the best of the best and makes me feel safer!

  31. LYN WILLIAMS October 24, 2017 at 1:10 am -

I would like to say yes, but I don’t think anyone is ready when there is a real emergency. Once panic sets in during the moment every practiced and learned goes right out the window.

  32. Lorena Keech October 24, 2017 at 2:43 pm -

We do have hard wired alarms and a sprinkler system in our apartment, but we should have a carbon monoxide monitor.

  33. Lisa V. October 24, 2017 at 9:34 pm -

Yes, we have rehearsed and have what we need.

  34. Jodi Daugherty October 25, 2017 at 4:46 pm -

We have a slight plan, but we need a better one.

  35. Kimberly G October 26, 2017 at 9:21 am -

We need to be more prepared.

  36. Mita October 26, 2017 at 2:58 pm -

Our smoke alarms all have had their batteries changed recently.

  37. Lauren U October 26, 2017 at 10:09 pm -

No. That’s why I would like to win. We need a new fire extinguisher!

  38. Joy Venters October 27, 2017 at 1:24 am -

I am moderately prepared – I just changed a battery in a smoke detector tonight. Most of my detectors are over 20 years old and could use an update

  39. cindy legg October 27, 2017 at 9:50 am -

i have some fire extinguishers and fire or smoke alarms but i dont feel anyone is ever ready for a fire

  40. Candie L October 27, 2017 at 6:26 pm -

Yes and no. I have an escape plan but I do not think more more than that

  41. Janine Hwang October 27, 2017 at 7:01 pm -

    We are semi prepared!

  42. Buddy Garrett October 27, 2017 at 9:50 pm -

I don’t think we are fully prepared. We haven’t discussed any plans in case of a fire.
