Ingredients

Units Scale

Peanut Butter Balls Ingredients:

1 cup Natural Peanut Butter

1/2 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs

1 cup Powdered Sugar

Chocolate Coating Ingredients:

2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (high quality)

2 TBSP Shortening

Instructions

  1. Using a large mixing bowl[, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and graham cracker crumbs. Keep mixing until your dough is soft.
  2. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and chill for at least two hours.
  3. Before removing the dough from the refrigerator, get a cookie sheet and line it with parchment paper.
  4. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Roll into 1-inch bowls and place on the cookie sheet.
  5. Place the entire cookie sheet in the freezer. Allow the dough to freeze for 20 to 30 minutes.
  6. During the last 5 minutes of freezer time, add the chocolate chips and shortening to a microwave-safe bowl. Melt thoroughly in the microwave and set aside.
  7. Remove the chilled dough bowls from the freezer. Place a toothpick on each ball.
  8. Start dipping the dough into the chocolate mixture, leaving the top half of each ball uncovered with chocolate to give the classic ‘buckeye’ appearance.
  9. Allow the chocolate to harden for about ten minutes before serving. If you have any leftover balls, refrigerate them in an airtight container.
