Nice, I never used a radar detector here, but it’s legal here. So many neat gadgets. I have a radio interceptor.. also dash cam.
Even if your aren’t a lead-foot driver, it can be hard to stay at the speed limit if the cars around you are going faster. You naturally want to go with the flow of traffic, and before you realize it, you are going 15 over the limit.
Radar detectors aren’t as helpful as people think. They go off when passing certain stores and police also have ways of blocking their signals.
I agree….I think this would be more distracting than helpful, but just my opinion.

I am a terrible driver. Having learned late in life I never seem to be able to keep my speed stable. I’m so terrified to look away from the road to look at my speed I often end up speeding or going too slow. Sometimes it’s not a lead foot, it’s a too terrified to look away from the road thing! I really like the feature that it will monitor your current driving speed. Also that it will give you voice notifications about speed.
Radar detectors are illegal in Canada. The government rep in my area (Ontario Premier Doug Ford) is considering increasing the speed limit on the 400-series highways (mainly in the Toronto area plus two that go across southern Ontario to the 2 cities furthest west). I feel that a detection system would help if it monitored your speed relative to the cars around you – respecially right in front of you. And also if it would recommend speed based on adverse weather conditions, especially if you should GET OFF the road!
That is the main thing people use it for here – detecting your speed and other dangers on the road. 🙂

Great for awareness sometime we are driving and not thinking about our own speed etc. Looks like not only will it help you not get a ticket it also keeps you safe.
