Charles Viancin Review & Giveaway

June 3, 2014 by Susan Bewley

Disclosure: I received these products for free to review. The opinions in my review are honest and my own.

Even though I love to cook, I always make leftovers to make sure my husband and I have food during those days I don’t feel like cooking. The problem I have found with leftovers, however, is that sometimes food doesn’t fit neatly in containers. Other times, I hate the idea of dirtying a container when I could just put the entire pot or bowl in the fridge. Since some of these don’t have lids, this usually means I have to get out the dreaded plastic wrap or aluminum foil. I absolutely hate both of these products since they are just so wasteful, and don’t always stay sealed! The problem is that most lids fit the container they came with and that is about it. At least, this was the case until I was introduce to a new, interesting product – Charles Viancin lids!

Charles Viancin Products: What is It

Tired of using ugly, expensive kitchen wrap and aluminum foil? If so, we are delighted to introduce you to a more eco-friendly option – Charles Viancin Silicone. Each of their lids is designed to be food and help you cover rimmed bowls and pots without using expensive, non-reusable wraps. Best of all, each of their designs are inspired by nature, looking like sunflowers, lily pads, hibiscus flowers, cherry blossoms, and more! With six sizes ranging from 4 inches – 13 inches you can easily find something to cover all of your favorite food and dishes.

Charles Viancin Products: Overall

As someone who hates non-reusable food wraps, I have to say that I adore Charles Viancin’s line of silicone products. Not only are all these lids beautiful, but practical. These are the type of lids you will even be happy to show off when you have guests. Personally, I love opening up the fridge and seeing a mini ‘flower garden’ inside made from our leftovers. It just really makes eating leftovers so much fun! Best of all, these silicone lids are BPA free and can be used on just about any smooth rimmed surface. As you can see from the lids I was sent for review (the sunflower and cherry blossom design), these lids really make any dish look beautiful. Even though it is not a lid, I also love their wine stoppers – they are so much easier to get out than a traditional cork and look so cute! Based on my own experience, I am happy to give Charles Viancin line of products an A rating!

I’m tired of wrestling with plastic wrap every night for leftovers. This looks like a pretty – reusable solution.

  2. Kim Pinch says

My kids (and husband) are too lazy to transfer leftovers to glass dishes to reheat so I use glass bowls to prevent them from microwaving plastic. I would love these lids so I don’t have to use plastic wrap.

These are just beautiful and will brighten up the drabness of my kitchen, I have been working on getting rid of my scarred up storage containers and these lids would let me use them on more of my already owned products. I love these Charles Viancin products especially the sunflower one that goes with my cannisters.. How neat

  9. Beth Clark says

    June 3, 2014 at 1:09 pm

Wow! I never seen these before. I would love to try them. THey would keep the food fresh plus they are prettier than the sara wrap and you would know that they would stay in place.

  10. Tracy Spangler says

I would love to win these lids, because my family and I are pledging to only use reusable products this year. So far we’ve eliminated using paper towels, buying toothpaste or deodorant ( I make these myself) and we use reusable bags. I’ve not found a good solution yet though for the plastic sandwich and freezer bags or foil to cover leftovers. These lids are a fantastic idea!

  11. Marj McClendon says

I would love to own these lids. What a delightful way to kick the plastic wrap habit.

I am always looking for a “green” solution to things. These would be great to use instead of filling landfills with foil or plastic. Also much easier to use.

  14. Marlene says

These lids are both cute and practical. My children never remember to put plastic wrap on the bowls so I am hoping that they will remember these.

Plastic wrap only sticks to itself as you try to pull it off of the roll. I have been using the covers that look like a small shower cap. I don’t know what you call them.

  17. Teresa says

  21. Anne says

    June 3, 2014 at 9:46 pm

As it is, I try to wash and reuse foil, and I avoid plastic wrap when I can. These cool covers would go a long way toward helping me cut way down on my need for foil and plastic wrap. Plus, they’re cute!

I want to know how they work and see if you can stack other things on them like you can with a pyrex set. I have pyrex type bowls but not with lids so I never use them! I’d love to get away from using plastic.

  26. paula v says

    June 4, 2014 at 10:51 am

Not only are they cute but they perform just like a lid with a more secure fit…I can never get foil to mold to a dish unless it covers the bottom too…and plastic wrap only sticks to glass if that.

  27. Stacy M. says

    June 4, 2014 at 11:49 am
