Help Dogs Relax with the Calmz Anxiety Relief Vest System

June 23, 2017 by Susan Bewley 14 Comments

Looking for ways to help your dog relax & better handle fireworks or separation anxiety? See what we think of the Calmz Anxiety Relief Vest System here!

How many of you are looking forward to the fact that it is finally summer? While I may enjoy the bright, sunny weather, one thing I am not looking forward to is something else that comes with summer – fireworks. In our neighborhood, fireworks start about the first or second week of June (sometimes as early as Memorial Day) and don’t end until sometime in the beginning of September. Since it is very hit or miss when they will go off, it is something that makes both of our girls nervous. Even though Ivi is pretty good as long as she is indoors, Rylie is not a fan at all, with her barking at the windows or sometimes just going on her bed and shaking. Add that to her separation anxiety during a calm time if we leave her alone, and you can see why summer isn’t a lot of fun for our big girl. Luckily, we have the perfect solution for helping her feel her feel calmer and safer – the Petmate Calmz Anxiety Relief Vest System.

Petmate Calmz Anxiety Relief System: What is It?

Looking for a non-invasive, drug-free solution to help reduce your dog’s anxiety? If so, we think you will love Petmate’s Calmz Anxiety Relief System. This system was designed by a dog owner with a background in medical devices, neurostimulation, and biologic regeneration, who put his knowledge and expertise to use to make a concept and prototype to relieve his dog Mile’s anxiety. Before long, his design became the Calmz Anxiety Relief System and is an amazing combination of treatment location, therapeutic stimulation and size. Tested by leading veterinary behaviorists, what makes this system work is a soothing blend of classical music, mild vibration, and calming tones that come from a small remote-like device that fits inside of a vest worn by dogs. To learn more, make sure to watch the video below!

Petmate Calmz Anxiety Relief Vest System: Did It Work?

As someone who had tried the Calmz Anxiety Relief Vest System in the past, I was hopeful that it would work for Rylie. To my delight, the vest did everything we expected and more. Rylie loves wearing the comfortable vest throughout the house or just relaxing in her crate. I think part of what makes it so great is not just the weight of the vest itself, but the music and gentle stimulation from the control. Rylie just seemed to almost immediately calm down, focusing on Ivi or the music, making loud noises not so scary. With how great it has worked during this short period of time, I have very high hopes for the 4th of July – or the next time we go out on a date without the girls. From my own experience with both Ivi and Rylie, I highly recommend the Petmate Calmz Anxiety Relief Vest System for anyone with an anxious dog!

Oh man, my dog needs this on the daily, all he does is bark all day no matter how long of a walk he has or how much attention he gets

My friends had a dog that would have issues when too many people came to their house. They had a harness that would do a similar thing – the dog was so much calmer with it on.

Not sure if my dog would allow me to put this on her. We do diffuse Lavener essential oil to help her relax.

When these were first introduced into our pet store, I was really hesitant if it was more of a “fad” item or if they actually worked. But as customers began purchasing them and came back with their feedback, everyone had nothing but positive things to say. They’re definitely something I would recommend for someone who has an anxious dog.

We’ve seen similar things that we have considered. My fiancé’s dog has major anxiety. She won’t eat or sleep unless one of us is with her.

I wish I had seen this review earlier. My dog was so scared from the fireworks last night that he was still shaking a couple of hours afterward.

Calmz Anxiety Relief Vest System sounds like it would be worthwhile to try for pets especially around the 4th of July. I always feel bad when the dogs get so frightened.

We sure could have used this on July 4th this year. Fireworks are legal in town and everyone bought the loudest ones they could get i think.

The Calmz anxiety relief system sounds awesome~~My Little Yorkie cries and Howls so much when we leave him to go to the store or anywhere! 🙁 We hate to hear him cry. It would be wonderful if this Vest would help his anxiety…

THis is the first time I have heard of this system. I can see how it would be great for dogs especially when there are loud noises such as the 4th of July.

My Yorkie was so anxious, he made me anxious just looking at him. I would prefer this over some pill I’ve seen advertised. I didn’t know they made them for cats too. It’s worth a try for what they go through.
