Inexpensive Smartphone Accessories for Smartphone Owners

January 30, 2015 by Susan Bewley

Disclosure: I received products for free for this post. The opinions are, however, honest and my own.

Did you just recently get a new phone? If you are anything like me you look forward to getting your new phone out of the box and toying with setting and different apps. Of course, I also love to give all of my tech its own personal touch. I love looking at cute cases for my phone, as well as accessories to make life easier. Of course, changing accessories and having fun things for your phone can very quickly get expensive. That is one of the reasons I love going to one of my favorite shops for buying gadgets for my phone and tablet – Boxwave. Now that some of you are buying new iPhones and Droids, I couldn’t wait to show you some of my favorite new items on Boxwave that are perfect for someone just purchasing a phone.

Boxwave: iDroid 2 in 1 Lightening + Micro USB Cable

Want a stylish and useful cable that can transfer data and charge all the devices in your home? If so, we think you will love the iDroid 2 in 1 Lightening + Micro USB Cable. This cable easily switches from lightening to Micro USB without the worry of having to lose pieces or having extra clutter in your bag. Best of all, you don’t have to go searching the house for multiple cables with its easy design since it can charge any newer Apple device and then be converted later to charge any Android devices you have in your household. With 7 fun colors, who knew charging devices could be so much fun! The iDroid 2 in 1 Lightening + Micro USB Cable sells for $24.95 and is on sale for only $19.95.

Boxwave: Gummy Pixel Apple iPhone Case

Looking for an inexpensive case that can also protect your phone? If so, we think you will love the Gummy Pixel Apple iPhone Case. This case has a distinctive pixilated grid pattern on the back to makes your phone easy to grip. As well, the case itself has raised edges that are recessed to protect your screen. Currently it is available in teal, frost clear, and smoke gray for only $29.95 and is on sale for $4.95.

Boxwave: EZCD Mobile Mount

Trying to find a way to mount your iPhone in the car without using suction cups or specialty holders? If so, we think you will love the EZCD Mobile Mount. Unlike most car mounts, it is fits into the CD slot and expands for a secure and safe fit without damaging your CD player. The mount supports full 360-degree rotation, allowing you to have your phone in landscape or portrait mode while you are driving. With its easy setup and design, you don’t have to worry about tools, glues, adhesive, or your phone flying due to suction cups not properly working. Currently this mount is available in jet black for only $29.95 and is on sale for $15.95.

We have both Apple and ANdroid products so this would be great. It woud have to stay in the kitchen outlet so no one wanders off with it.

I’ve had to buy several new power cords for my smartphone this past year. The cat chewed one, another got slammed in the car door. Ug. So annoying. These look fantastic.

I like the looks of the cables. The look much stronger than the OEM ones. That seems to be the first thing that goes bad with electronic devices – the charger cables….

A cable with double the connections an moving arts at that, is just begging for some art to be broken in the connection, which is usually the most vulnerable art in a cable like that.

The iPhone case just looks cheap, ugly and very plastic.

The mount loos interesting… until you get to the part where it is taking over your CD player… meaning, no more CD music for you.

I’ll pass, thank you very much.

Hi Mo, I will be honest, I’m kinda having a hard time following your comment. The mount personally wasn’t a huge deal to me. I rarely, if ever, use my CD player. It’s a dust collector in my car now since I listen to music on my iPhone through a Bluetooth FM transmitter. I actually found out from this review I have had the same CD in my CD player for the past 3 years – ouch. To me, it’s just using something that is no longer used in my car. With how my Accord’s dash slants, most suction cups and mounts just don’t work right, unfortunately.

As for the case, I guess that is to each their own. I change cases constantly on my phone and you can’t really beat the price. It’s protective, I like the color, and I like the recesses to protect my screen, which is something I haven’t seen on any other case for the price. It’s meant to be practical and inexpensive. To me, a case should be protective but not an investment. If a $6 case breaks protecting my $500 iPhone, that seems like a fantastic investment.

On the cable, I will admit, I am lost with your comment. You are always going to have a moving part with converting cable. That’s kinda the point if you want something that converts between lightening and micro-USB without having multiple cables.

I don’t have any Apple products but this cable would come on handy for all our Android products. Maybe if I had a pink cord the boys would stop taking mine!

I have bought so many chargers for ipad and iphones. They all stop charging sfter a whike and its hard to find longer cords, so I would certainly give these a try. Thanks.

These products are interesting. TheiDroid2in1 Lightening & Micro USB Cable for under $20 from Boxman, is a great price! I bet the Big Box stores can’t beat that. Thank you for the introduction.

My son needs a new case for his iPhone. I like the idea of a gel one – it wouldn’t crack in his backpack.

I love the different colors that this comes in and it would make it so much easier to find, plus I love that it eliminates the need for another cable when all is together, and many of times I have wished to have a holder for our cell phone when we are in the car, it is much more convenient when not on the floor or all over the place, Boxman, definitely has us users in mind with the products they have for sale, thank you for sharing this review.

This is pretty cool. I like how you can switch from Droid to different Apple products. This would be great for my husband and I since I have a Droid and he has a Iphone.

These are great gift ideas to get for my dad and my 2 sisters. They are constantly wearing out their iPhone accessories, & this would help a lot. Plus, all of the colors are really cute!
