As some of you know, I work very hard to try eating healthy. Sometimes, it's easier said than done. One thing I have been paying quite a bit of attention to lately is omega-3. I try buying products that are high in this important nutrient, but on weeks that we don't get enough fish, I try taking a fish oil supplement. The one thing I hate about most fish oil supplements, however, is that they smell horrible and its not too uncommon for have a nasty fish taste in your mouth hours after taking the supplement. Recently, I had the opportunity to try a new product that has all the benefits of fish oil without the nasty smell and taste – Everest Nutrition's Kill Oil Supplement.
Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil Supplement: What Is It?
So, what exactly are krill? They are actually not a fish, but more like a shrimp, since they are part of the crustacean family. They naturally have higher levels of omega-3 and also have high levels of astaxanthin, a very powerful natural antioxidant. Not only does krill oil not taste like fish, but it is loaded with a variety of different health benefits, helping:
- Improve cardiovascular health
- Lower cholesterol
- Help PMS symptoms
- Improve Brain Function
- Reduce and Manage Inflammation

Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil Supplement: Taste
So, does Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil Supplement actually taste like fish or have a fishy aftertaste? From my experience, I have to say no. It smells fairly neutral and I only once had a fishy aftertaste from taking these pills. I will also say that was by not following the directions on the bottle and taking it on an empty stomach. This is a major plus in my eyes since most supplements do leave a nasty fish taste in your mouth, which does not make my husband happy at all since he hates most fish. So far though, I have not really had any issues taking this krill supplement.
Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil Supplement: Ease of Use
Unlike some supplements, you don't have to jump through hoops to take this one. For adults, all you have do is take two pills a day, preferably with breakfast. Since it is a small bottle and the pills don't smell, it is also easy to throw in your purse for lunch. The only recommendation I have to make sure to take them with food. The only time I ever had anything close to a fishy aftertaste with Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil Supplement was when I took it on an empty stomach.
Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil Supplement: Overall
So far, I am impressed with Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil Supplement. It doesn't have a fishy smell or taste, making it perfect for anyone who hates fish. While I love fish myself, I consider it a great alternative to many of the fish oil supplements on the market. Based on my own experience with this product, I give it an A rating!
