As some of you know, I have a peanut allergy. I will be the first to tell you, nothing sucks more than being allergic to one of your favorite foods. Growing up and in college, I used to eat peanut butter all the time, and don’t even get me started on how much I miss Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs! While I have always loved almond butter too, I still love trying a variety of different nut butters. Recently I was exposed to a new type of butter – Nocciolata – an organic hazelnut spread with cocoa and milk. Being a big chocolate and nut girl, I obviously couldn’t wait to dig in when it arrived!

Nocciolata: What is It

Looking for a delicious treat to replace your peanut butter? If so, we think you will love Nocciolata! This yummy chocolate hazelnut spread included not only quality cocoa and cocoa butter, but milk as well! This USDA certified organic product is made with a mixture of Italian hazelnuts, cocoa, cocoa butter, cold pressed sunflower oil , vanilla, raw cane sugar, and skimmed milk. This artisan butter takes 36 hours to make to guarantee it always has a smooth, creamy texture. To learn more, make sure to check out the Nocciolata website!

Nocciolata: Overall

Before trying this product, I had minimal exposure to hazelnut spreads. I had tried one in the past, and wasn’t really a huge fan of it, mostly because the cocoa tasted very low quality. As any chocolate lover will tell you, nothing is worse than low quality chocolate! Nocciolata, however, was creamy, smooth, and not overwhelmingly sweet, making it a great addition to just about any type of bread or dessert. Personally, I loved the taste of spread and can’t wait to try it on other foods. So far, I am happy to give this yummy chocolate hazel spread an A rating!

Nocciolata: Where to Purchase

Want to try this yummy hazelnut spread for yourself? You can purchase Nocciolata at many organic retailers and on for $4.99 a jar!

Thanks for your review! I have been wondering if there were any healthier substitutes for Nutella. We love that stuff here and I know its not really good for us.

I have typically not been fond of spreads, hazelnut included. I am, however a huge chocolate fan. I can tell the difference easily between quality chocolate and non-quality chocolate.. The pictures look so good here that i am convinced to try Organic Chocolate Hazelnut Spread.

Chocolate hazelnut spread is so delicious. On toast or a bagel, it’s like having dessert for breakfast – LOL!

Just wondering how it actually does compare with Nutella. If it isn’t nearly as good I wouldn’t switch. I think Nutella is actually cheaper than this product as well… but thanks for your review!

That sounds good. It sounds like Nutella spread. I’ve been using that for a while.

Of course, I too, have been looking for a healthier alternative to Nutella. I wonder if this would be able to replace nutella in recipes as well? Like, cookies, cakes, or truffles that call for it. Im definitely going to have to try it out!
