Organix Shampoo & Conditioner Review

August 28, 2012 by Susan Bewley

In my opinion, some of the hardest things to find are good shampoo and conditioner.  Growing up, my mother tried just about every brand under the sun, including of the very expensive hair care products sold by salons. No matter what I tried, my scalp felt itchy and terrible. After a while I finally figured out the problem – I was allergic to something in many shampoos and conditioners. Unlike most of my cleaners, I had never really considered using natural shampoo and conditioner. What made me actually switch to natural was a free coupon for Organix Shampoo & Conditioner.

After seeing a free coupon on the bottle – I was sold! Worst case scenario I could throw the bottles in a bag traveling and have something better than the trial size shampoo and conditioners at a hotel. I always feel embarrassed asking for multiple bottles at a hotel when we stay anywhere (if you have long hair, you likely know what I mean).  I really had no clue what to expect out of Organix Shampoo & Conditioner, but after a year of use, I can very firmly say I am hooked!

Organix Shampoo & Conditioner

When it comes to hair care products, Organix has very quickly been taking over the market with its natural line of hair care products and beauty products.  Since 2006, they have been making quality products that are not just good for you, but better for the environment as well. Every product made by Organix, including Organix Shampoo & Conditioner, are:

  • Sulfate Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Pthhalate Free
  • SLS Free
  • Sodium Free

One of the biggest disappointments I had when I started researching hair care products was how many of them were actually tested on animals. Most products are tested on dogs first to see if they have any ill effect on their skin. This means that if something goes wrong, these unfortunate pups may have chemical burns on their skin from odd formulas companies use in hopes of saving money. I am very happy to say that Organix is animal friendly, and has never tested their products on animals! This alone earns Organix Shampoo & Conditioner big points in my book!

Easily the most overwhelming part of switching to Organix Shampoo & Conditioner are the choices. There are so many different options available, depending on scent preferences, your hair type, and the condition of your hair, so you need to be careful and get the right product for the job. I personally use the organic coconut milk with ultra whipped egg white protein, since it smells amazing and leaves my hair smelling great!

Organix Shampoo & Conditioner: Effectiveness

When I review different hair care products, the first thing I focus on is how it makes my hair feel. I would love to say smell comes first, but I have tried so many products that smelled great but left my hair feeling sticky and heavy. I am happy to report that Organix Shampoo & Conditioner left my hair feeling clean and very soft.  Since my mother has very difficult curly hair, I had her try this shampoo and conditioner as well, since it is safe for all hair types, and color treated hair. She found that this formula left her hair feeling just as amazing as her expensive salon hair care products (for a fraction of the cost!) and helped her better manage her tight curls, too.  After trying this shampoo and conditioner, she was hooked as well.  The only difference is she prefers the Brazilian Keratin Therapy Formula .

Organix Shampoo & Conditioner: Smell

If you have ever used Organix products, you already know that the smell is a wonderful part of using these products. I have tried a wide assortment of different Organix Shampoo & Conditioner products, but I always go back to the organic coconut milk formula. Unlike other products that just smell great in the shower, it leaves a lingering coconut smell behind in your hair.  This soft smell makes not only makes me feel great, but makes me oddly feel more confident.  Maybe this is due to the fact that my husband loves smelling my hair after I use this stuff!

Organix Shampoo & Conditioner: Overall

While I have tried numerous different natural shampoo and conditioners, nothing can really compete with Organix Shampoo & Conditioner . This is always my standard when I'm testing other products, just because it is just so amazing. I have found others that I use every so often when I run out and can't easily restock, but nothing leaves my hair feeling as soft and clean as this natural shampoo and conditioner. I would easily give these products an A+ rating. If you get a chance, I highly recommend picking up some bottles from this hair care line.

oh my! Shampoo… for some reason i had hard time finding the right shampoo for my hair. i've tried all kinds of shampoo, i even took some advice from the beauty salon and bought their products to no avail. Ugh! i was desperate when one of my friend had same experienced, she recommended me to purchase CLEAR anti-dandruff shampoo and since then i've been using it. i don't get flaky hair anymore.

This sounds like a great line of products, but I don't like the smell of coconut. I would need a different scent.

I'd never even seen the coconut milk one….I'm going to have to look for that.  Thanks for the great review and reminding me that if I really want to take care of my hair, I may want to spend an extra couple of dollars and get something without all the chemicals.
