With how much I enjoyed this cookbook, I decided to try another of the cookbooks in the series. With cold weather starting to show itself, just in time for the holidays, I thought it would be fun to try making a variety of soups in my slow cooker. Luckily, the publisher was happy to send me the latest book in the series – Slow Cooker Favorites Soups, Stews, and Chilis. Once the book arrived, I couldn’t wait to tell you guys about it!

Slow Cooker Favorites Soups, Stews, and Chilis: Our Thoughts

If you are looking for a slow cooker cookbook that is easy to follow, with just about any soup recipe you can think of this, Slow Cooker Favorites Soups, Stews, and Chilis is the cookbook for you. So many of the recipes in the books are super easy to follow and include ingredients you could find easily in your kitchen. Honestly, I wish I had this cookbook when I first went out on my own and was trying to figure out what to put in the slow cooker before going to class or work. My only complaint with the book is an issue with all the books I have seen in the series – nothing has pictures. It is sometimes nice just seeing what some of these recipes look like, especially if I’m trying something completely new.

OH I adore anything I can make in the slow cooker!! I love the smell it permeates throughout the house and the fact that I can prep it in the morning and have it done by evening. Yay for warm soups and stew for the cold months!

My slow cooker is the most used appliance. But I must be hard on them as I have had probably over 16 in the last 35 years, I have lots of crocks and lids left so I use them in oven or outside on the grill. My units are disposed of..
