Do you have certain gifts you love to give during the holiday? Personally, I always love to give books or gift cards for purchasing books. In a way, it is the best gift around since it gives you knowledge, or send you into a totally different world! I also love that I never know what new books I will getting for Christmas.  Do you give books as gifts during the holidays? I totally agree! Maybe I am biased as an elementary teacher, but books are especially great for kids. Just put a good book in a child's hands (or read it to them, even better!), and they will become engrossed.

This is such a cute post. Books are a valuable commodity and provide endless information. With everybood I read I go looking for another one. I wish more people had the same appreciation for books that I do.

Cute! I love giving and receiving books! In our house my son gets to ask for something he needs, something to read, something to wear and something he wants. He loves books and has quite the list of what books he wants!

I starting giving my kids books for Christmas when they were little.  It encouraged them to read, and gave them a love for reading, because the books were theirs, brought to them by Santa.  They all still read to this day and thet are grown up.

I give books as gifts a lot because they seem to be so appreciated, especially to those that love books.  I know we live in a technological world, but there is something about holding a book that is so comforting.

I give my kids books every holiday, including birthdays and "just because". We are a house full of readers. Whenever anyone ask me what I want, I always say, either a gift card to Michaels (I do arts and crafts and baking), or a gift card to Barnes and Noble. Makes it easier for them.

Number 11 is my favorite, because it's so true! It doesn't matter how financially strapped you might be, you can go wherever you want in book. Books are always available through your local library and most cities/towns have book sales through local organizations on an annual basis. That's how I've gotten lots of my books.
