Coconut Sunbutter Dog Treat Recipe

Coconut Sunbutter Dog Treat Recipe feature

While I do buy them sometimes when we travel, I am not a huge fan of buying dog treats. Many of the dog treats on the market contain ingredients I couldn’t even imagine feeding to my dog. To me, dogs deserve to have treats that contain not only healthy ingredients, but are made to be yummy to humans as well. Let’s face it, dogs love table scraps because they taste good and aren’t boring like their own dog food. Since it’s hard to find treats that meet our criteria for Reya, I usually heat up the oven and make my own. Not only does she love them but they are much cheaper than the ‘natural’ treats you can normally buy at the store.

Lately, I have been experimenting with a variety of different dog treat recipes. While I know she loves my normal recipe, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a better one out there. Besides, who wants to eat the same treat all the time? This recipe was actually suggested to me by The Honest Kitchen. After trying out their dehydrated dog food, I was excited to try this recipe. After trying this recipe with their Pro-Bloom Deyhydrated Goats Milk, I have to say. Best of all, Reya went wild over these treats, making them a big win in our household!

Thank you for this recipe. I am very cautious about what I feed my critters. I have found commercial products have caused all my pets to develop allergies which have not only been uncomfortable for them but very expensive (vet visits etc.) I can’t wait to try this recipe. I know they will love it!

Thank you for sharing this recipe! I believe it’s always best to make our own dog food whenever possible. These days, it’s so hard to know if we’re buying safe food and treats for our sweet fur babies.

My dog loves treats, especially “new” ones that we save for training. These might be just the ticket since I can make them in different shapes and sizes depending on what we need.

He also gets coconut oil in his food every day to help with his coat and digestion issues.

These coconut sunbutter dog treat recipe looks wonderful! I’ve pinned it too so I can share it.

These sound interesting, but I have never heard of Coconut flour, Almond or Sunflower butter or dehydrated goats milk before. I’m not sure Sparkie would like these or not since he is a little picky with his food and treats.

Those look like peanut butter cookies. I’d be afraid to leave a plate of those. They’d probably get eaten.

I used your recipe for my doggy and he loves your coconut sunbutter dog treat because mainly he do not like any homemade food. I tried to make the recipe you suggested and he ate it happily. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe and if you have any that type of recipe, then Please share.

I’m so glad he loved them! Reya loves these treats and I found they also store well. I have leftover batter in the fridge and throw them on our pizza stone when I want ‘quick treats’ for Reya. Here is another dog treat recipe that uses chicken broth and is a little bit better for traveling –
